Day 1 – Friday

Arrive at Brussels Airport and pick up by our staff who will guide you to our hotel in Ghent. The first job will be to unpack our bikes and make them ready for the week! Our staff will be helping out if you have mechanical problems or need any assistance.

We leave for a short ride to loosen the legs and discover the area nearby. We will also ride some cobbled sections! A welcome diner is provided at the hotel and there will plenty of time to meet the guides and fellow riders and to ask questions.

Oh yeah, there is time to have a beer (or two)!

Day 2 – Saturday

Today is race day! A 140km ride along the most famous cobblestones and hills the day before the pro’s do! We take an early breakfast and we ride to the start of one of the biggest sport events in Belgium. With our local guides we will be on our way while others will be searching for parking spots.

Once you are there you’ll finally be able to understand the Belgians’ obsession with bike racing. On the to do list: Oude Kwaremont, Paterberg, Steenbeekdries, Taaienberg, Leberg and Koppenberg!

Day 3 – Sunday

One hundred thousand cycling fans make the Tour of Flanders what it is today so the atmosphere on the course will be amazing! We sleep in, take a comfortable breakfast at the hotel then make our way to Oudenaarde by minibus. We head straight to the VIP area at the Oude Kwaremont. Firstly we will see the women’s race pass and then the final 3(!) circuits of the men’s race, culminating in the finish at Oudenaarde.

Our VIP area is provided by the organization of the race and will have all the ingredients for a fantastic Belgian atmosphere: The Ronde live in front of you on the Oude Kwaremont, the whole race live on a big screen TV, a lot of beer, fine food and lots of proud enthusiastic Belgian cycling fans.

Day 4 – Monday

Today we take it easy – we stay in the Tour of Flanders atmosphere though! We ride to the historical heart of Oudenaarde by mini-van for a visit of the Tour of Flanders Centre and interactive museum. Your local guide will be a former world champion cycling! We will take lunch on the beautiful central square in Oudenaarde. Afterwards we’ll visit brewery Roman and get to taste some different beers. Then we ride back to Ghent – on our way back we have a quick stop at the BMC concept store.

Day 5 – Tuesday

Today we head out by mini-van to Ieper and jump on the bikes for some Gent-Wevelgem action, including the famous Kemmelberg which is about 12km from Ieper. The region is dotted with WW1 cemeteries which gives riding there a special touch. The chances of strong crosswinds are quite high, so we will develop you into excellent echelon riders.

After a quick shower we return to Ieper to visit the Menin Gate Memorial, dedicated to the British and Commonwealth soldiers who were killed in World War I and whose graves are unknown. Following the Menin Gate Memorial opening in 1927, the citizens of Ypres wanted to express their gratitude towards those who had given their lives for Belgium’s freedom. Hence every evening at 20:00, buglers from the local fire brigade close the road which passes under the memorial and play the “Last Post”. After this breathtaking moment we head back to the hotel.

Day 6 – Wednesday

Another race day for the pro’s because it’s the semi-classic Scheldeprijs in Schoten near Antwerp. It’s a race for sprinters, held on flat roads over roughly 200kilometers. Marcel Kittel, Mark Cavendish and Alexander Kristoff are the riders we have to keep an eye on.

We’ll head to Antwerp to see the start and stay there to see some of this beautiful city centre. We go by bike to Westmalle and we’ll visit the famous “Trappist” brewery. There is time for some tasting and buy some Trappist for your friends and family! After that we head to Schoten to see the pro’s final laps and finish and then return to the hotel in Ghent. We do around 65 ( flat) kilometers.

Day 7 – Thursday

Today we will be hosting a workshop “Crazy ‘bout Carbon”. Our host is representing a company that used to produce frame parts for Colnago. They used to repair frames for Belgian legends like Johan Museeuw! We will get more info on the exact material specifications of carbon, the future trends, carbon frame repairing etc….

After lunch we’ll leave to the Eddy Merckx velodrome where our expert support staff will provide us with a track bike – a fixie. After a safety briefing we have time to do as many  laps as we want. The Eddy Merckx velodrome is used mainly for training purposes and is not as steep as “Het Kuipke” where the famous 6 days of Ghent are held every year. It’s an exhilarating experience to fly down this track and we are convinced you will love it! In the evening we prepare our ride to Roubaix for the next day.

Day 8 – Friday

Recovery day. Today we’ll take it slowly and we go for a flat bike ride to Breskens, Netherlands. Following the borders of the Westerschelde we arrive at Breskens. After a quick lunch we drive with our mini-vans to Bruges. (those diehards who wants to finish the trip on bike, are welcome and can overcome the last 40kms). This is optional. If you want to save the legs for tomorrow, that’s more than okay.

In the afternoon, everybody is free to discover Bruges, the Venice of the North and UNESCO World Heritage City. We’ll go for a boat tour on the famous canals. The Central Square in Bruges is also the place where the Tour of Flanders started every year.

Day 9 – Saturday

Another big day. Today you will ride your own Paris-Roubaix cyclo! After breakfast we will leave the hotel and we get on the bikes near Busigny. 16 (!) sections of pave later, roughly 172kms, we arrive at Roubaix’s famous velodrome. Afterwards we can wash down the dust ( or mud) with a beer at the Roubaix Velo Club.

Sometimes the pro teams do a last reconnaissance of the important final pavés.  Maybe you can take your dream selfie here?

Day 10 – Sunday

‘The Hell of the North’ or Paris Roubaix is together with the Tour of the Flanders the race of the Spring. Famous for its rough terrain and cobbled roads and also because you’ve discovered it yourself the day before, you will fully appreciate and admire of what the pro-riders are doing there.

Our program for today: we will be following the race by mini-van and see the riders 2 times, on pave sections. If you’re lucky, maybe your personal favorite punctures in front of you, and you can help him replacing his wheel? For lunch we will picnic in the car because there is no time to waste.

Once the race is over we will head back to Belgium (Roubaix is almost on the border with Belgium) for our final diner together and the closing ceremony.
